As a little christmas present for the "X-Mas Wichteln" I bought "cup" cookie cutters from Tchibo. When I thought about a sweet packaging for the cutters, the idea came to my mind to cut out little paperboard cups, to stick them with gift wrap and then sew on the cookie cutters. The three cups I put in an empty tissue box which I also wrapped into the gift wrap.

Let's take a photo!
It's christmas tiiiiiime and for a present for a friend, everything was about PHOTOGRAPHY.
For packaging I used a cake box, printed tiny cameras and put them together with drawn pennants in a garland. On the upper site of the box I put the name of the photography brand of the friend and on the left and the right side I sticked a quote which to my mind really fits the personality of the photographer and is haunting - "eyes like a shutter - mind like a lens". I like it. :)
I filled the box with homemade cookies, but to 'pimp up' the typical christmas tree and bells, I used cookie letter stampers from Tchibo. With the help of the letters I branded every cookie with the name of the photographer. Then I put them in a tiny plastic pocket and wrote again a little phrase on it which is related to photography but also to the food.
And as the "main" present I ordered a funny thing from design3000 - an Online Shop which really offers crazy products. :D I bought an egg timer which looks like a lens and wrote "freeze the time" on it - again connected to the overall issue "photography".
Inside the box I put cotton wool which is a little cue on the coooold winter filled with lovely warm presents - for me it was really fun to create the present and the packaging. :)

Let's neon, baby!
For a neon theme party at a students club I prepared some decoration and sweets.
The first I was thinking about: "There have to be cupcakes! GLOWING cupcakes." What followed then, was lots of experimenting. I found only one recipe in the Internet with Tonic Water and Jello! I tried it out but to be honest - It didn't look aesthetic. :D Fortunately I got some "powder" (Illuzon and Fluorescin) which are usually used for coloring cocktails in neon. I used them to color the frosting of the cupcake and it worked out! Finally I've decorated the frosting with a little flag of neon paper on which I printed the logo of the club.
And from the chocolate cookbook of the British "sweet" company Gü I got some further inspiration for the neon sweets. :-) They look like 'reversed' CakePops and are made of sponge cake, jelly and darc chocolate couverture. I've taken wooden sticks, colored them with glowing-in-the-dark-acrylic-colors and then colored again tiny cupcake liners as 'dinner mat'.
The neon-painted cardboard letters of the club name in the first picture as well as the glowing-in-the-dark-acrylic-colors I've bought at the idee. creativemarkt.

The wind is playing...
At the weekend I've visited a kite festival at the southern beach of Burgtiefe in Fehmarn. To see the colorful dancing of hundreds of kites in the sky was an impressing picture. For me kites are not only a symbol of joy of life, but when they are gliding through the air and shaping fancyful pictures in the sky, they have kind of meditative character. It's like a completely different world, full of ease and freedom.
It was funny and fascinating how the wind plays with the colors and shapes of the kites. Here are some impressions of the festival:
The highlight of the festival was the so called "wind bowl": It took many people to let the the huge rainbow wheel fly. But to see the colors dancing in front of the blue sky and the blue sea was incredible.

About Me
I'm Katja, 25 years old and I've
studied Media and Communication Science at the University of Technology
Ilmenau, a place in the wonderful small state Thuringia in lovely
Germany.
I
love creative and artistic baking, crafts, travelling, sport, nature
and discovering new places. I love browsing the whole wide world for new
and fresh designing and product ideas. I love people who surprise with
uncommon, innovative and individual ideas.
That's
why I write this blog: I want to give creativity a place. This blog
introduces artists and people I 'met' on my way and who fascinate me
with what they do. But this blog is also a place for my own creativity,
to show you my discoveries, thoughts and impressions of my journeys.
I
hope one day this blog will become a place of inspirative and creative
exchange and giving to all of you a piece of "joy of life" I feel within
this creativity.
